Ingredients:
Marshmallow
The healing powers of marshmallow are due in part to the mucilage it contains which acts as a fantastic stomach soother coating, lubricating and settling the stomach lining. This also creates a protective layer of tissue on the lining of the digestive tract, and will stimulate the cells that support tissue regeneration, so a great option for healing leaky gut. High in fibre, it helps to relieve both constipation and diarrhoea. Marshmallow root also has the potential to act as a diuretic, to help the body to flush out excess fluid and cleanse the kidneys and the bladder.
Fennel and Caraway
Both excellent carminative herbs that expel gas, and prevent stomach cramping and intestinal colic. They have fantastic anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Fennel contains calcium, iron, vitamin C, folate and potassium; whilst caraway is loaded with fibre and several important minerals, including iron, magnesium, copper, and calcium.
Chamomile
This herb has antispasmodic, carminative, and mild sedative properties which aid indigestion, gas or vomiting. It is a powerful anti-inflammatory. It also contains trace amounts of potassium, phosphorus, manganese, zinc, iron, and selenium.
Dried Chicory root extract (prebiotic fructooligosaccharide)
This supports the growth of probiotics, which is a great aid for keeping bad bacteria under control in your dog’s gut. By supporting the good bacteria, prebiotics help to improve digestion and nutrient absorption (especially minerals), and enhance the immune system. These all have a symbiotic effect with the probiotics in this formula.
Barberry Bark
A noted herb for many gastrointestinal ailments. It is a potent antibiotic, astringent and anti-fungal. When taken for infections, it controls the overgrowth of candida albacans as well as functioning as a bactericide. This is a real advantage over conventional antibiotics. It also controls infectious diarrhoea and increases the production of the digestive enzymes
Licorice Root
Potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial effects, and is often used to relieve symptoms of indigestion, such as acid reflux, upset stomach, and heartburn. It is also used to reduce blood sugar levels and improve kidney health.
Thyme
Rich in antifungal and antioxidant properties which can help fight any bacterial and fungal infections, and minor irritations in the digestive system. It also improves blood circulation and can boost the immune system
Montmorillonite clay
Aids in the removal of toxins from the body. It also acts as a great detoxifier, anti-parasitic, anti-worming, anti-inflammatory agent.
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Mannan Oligosaccharide)
This might be difficult to pronounce, but rest assured, it has a job to do! It improves gut microflora balance and has immune-modulatory properties.
Added Probiotics:
We’ve also managed to pack some additional probiotics into this mix including: Enterococcus faecium and Bacillus coagluans which are soil based probiotics that aid digestion and help maintain a healthy mix of bacteria in the stomach. This probiotic does a better job of surviving the acidity of the dog’s gut.
